Highlights of August 6, 2018 Village Board Meeting

*The winners of the 2018 Garden Contest were announced. Congratulations to Susan Kent, James & Michele Uhrich, Jeff Friedhoffer, John & Carol Koenig and Licia Gliplis!
*Special guest Mary Kay Sigaty, Howard County Council Chairperson, updated the Board on county projects.
*The Board considered a donation request from WLHS for an afterschool activity bus.
*There was a discussion of CA Encroachment enforcement

CA Installing Witness Posts in Wilde Lake

Columbia Association’s survey contractor will be installing brown survey markers, also known as witness posts, in various locations throughout Wilde Lake in the coming weeks.  If you have any questions about the markers, feel free to contact the CA Open Space Management office at open.space@columbiaassociation.org or 410/312-6330.

As a reminder, it is important that you ensure that any improvements to your property, including landscaping, are within your property boundaries.  You may not build or plant anything on Open Space.

Prepare for Success

Help our students prepare for the new school year by donating much needed supplies to Prepare for Success.

Please drop off supplies at the collection box at Slayton House by August 24. Below is a list of needed items, which can be dropped off from now until August 24: Paper:

Color Columbia Plein Air Paint Out

Saturday, Sept. 8, 8:30am-5pm
Mark your calendars and meet us outdoors, where you can breathe fresh air, hear the birds, and paint the scenery and diverse architectural elements around Lake Kittamaqundi and Wilde Lake in Downtown Columbia, Maryland. Sitemaps will be at the welcome booth. An exhibition of the resulting works will be held in Columbia Art Center’s Window and Main Gallery, Sept. 15-30. The welcome booth at Lake Kittamaqundi will be open 8:30am-5pm.
