SUMMARY:Opening Reception | Anne Calamuci – The Portrait’s Ability to Reveal
DESCRIPTION:Exhibit Dates: January 6\, 2026 to February 22\, 2026\nReception Date: January 11\, 2026 at 3:00 pm\n\nRegister for Reception\n\n\nAnne Calmuci’s work in conceptual portrait photography is rooted in spirituality. She creates images that explore the inner life. \n\nThe series Ageless Creativity features 24 female artists ages 55–89. The series celebrates the female spirit and reminds us that women over a certain age are still imaginative\, passionate\, and full of life. \nAgeless Creativity was created with LED flashlights using a technique called light painting. This process allows the painting of light to create a luminous\, otherworldly atmosphere. \nPortraits can capture what cannot be spoken. Anne enjoys creating images that invite the viewer to look beyond the surface.

SUMMARY:Baltimore Lab Project Presents: Baltimore Winterfest
DESCRIPTION:From Baltimore Lab Project: \nBaltimore Winterfest is our annual holiday performance and community celebration hosted by Baltimore Lab Project. Each year\, our dancers come together to share the joy\, warmth\, and creativity of the season through movement\, music\, and storytelling. Winterfest is more than a showcase — it is a family-centered experience that highlights the hard work\, growth\, and dedication of our dancers while spreading love and unity throughout our community. \nDancers of all ages and levels take the stage to perform original choreography in various styles\, including ballet\, jazz\, hip hop\, tap\, and musical theater. Friends\, families\, and community members gather to celebrate our students’ artistic achievements and the sense of connection that defines our BLP family. \nWinterfest also serves as an important fundraiser for our dance programs\, helping support costumes\, studio resources\, and performance opportunities throughout the season. By attending and participating\, guests are not only uplifting our dancers — they are investing in their continued growth and the cultural enrichment of Baltimore youth. \nAt Winterfest\, the lights shine bright\, the music plays loud\, and together we celebrate family\, artistry\, joy\, and tradition. \nTickets are $25 and available via Eventbrite. SUMMARY:Gallery Talk | Echoes of Light & Line
DESCRIPTION:A two-artist exhibition featuring sisters Hima and Nishita Jain. Though their subjects differ—portraits and landscapes—their work shares a contemplative sensitivity and a reverence for quiet moments. \nHima’s pencil portraits capture the dignity\, character\, and quiet strength of individuals from varied walks of life. Each drawing is rendered with extraordinary care\, inviting viewers to pause and connect with the depth of expression etched in graphite.’ \nAfter a successful career in IT entrepreneurship\, Hima returned to her early love of drawing and painting during the quiet pause of the pandemic. This reconnection with her creative roots reignited a lifelong passion for observing and expressing the world through art. Her current work goes beyond visual representation—it seeks to convey the spirit of her subjects and the subtle interplay of light and shadow that brings them to life. \nNishita’s watercolor landscapes evoke fleeting light and shifting atmosphere. Her work explores place as emotion—layered washes\, softened forms\, and tonal transitions convey both solitude and serenity. \nWith a focus on tonal nuance and fluid brushwork\, Nishita uses the inherent softness of watercolor to evoke emotion and place. Her distinctive approach continues to resonate with viewers\, drawing the attention of both collectors and fellow artists. \nNishita is also an art instructor\, teaching watercolor techniques to adult students at both beginner and intermediate levels.  \nTogether\, these works offer a visual meditation on stillness and presence—whether in the lines of a weathered face or the mist over a morning field. \nGallery Talk: Nov 15\, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM |\nRSVP required

SUMMARY:Heart of Maryland Chorus Presents: Night at the Harmony Museum\, Nov. 8
DESCRIPTION:The guards at the Museum of Harmony have been trying to compete as a barbershop quartet and make it onto the International Stage for years now but they just do not have the right stuff. But there is a way they could do it\, if they steal the “Mystical Pitch Pipe of King Sharpe Wit” which has magical properties and brings to life all of the exhibits of the museum each night. These museum exhibits have a dream of their own to sing as a chorus in competition\, but this means the magical pitch pipe must remain in their possession. Will the newly hired night-guard be able to thwart the plans of the thieving older guards and keep harmony where it belongs in the museum? \nJoin the Heart of Maryland Chorus for Night at the Harmony Museum\, their annual show featuring the Heart of Maryland and guest quartets. After the show\, stay for the Afterglow\, featuring food\, snacks\, desserts\, beverages\, and more barbershop entertainment.  \nDoors open at 3:30 pm. Tickets are $30 plus a service fee and are available now at Heart of Maryland’s online box office.
