DESCRIPTION:Exhibit Dates: August 13\, 2026 to October 4\, 2026\nMeet the artists and explore Places & Spaces during the opening reception at Bernice Kish Gallery\, held in conjunction with the Howard County Road to the Arts. \nRSVP: https://forms.gle/rTckQb8dA6ysEf2d7 \nMAPAPA’s 2026 Annual Show Places & Spaces features paintings created en plein air by artists living and working throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. \nEn plein air is French for “in the open air” and refers to the practice of painting outdoors to capture natural light\, color\, and atmosphere directly from life. Most of the works in this exhibition were completed in a single sitting\, with artists responding to their surroundings over the course of just a few hours. Some artists return to the same location at a similar time of day to complete a painting while preserving the original light and mood.
