SUMMARY:Gallery Talk | Beth Higgins | Garden of Reclaimed Things
DESCRIPTION:Gallery Talk | Saturday\, Apr 29\, 2026 | 3-5 PM\nRSVP: https://forms.gle/sCFzuirxVvBY6VoX9 \nBeth Higgins is a mixed media artist living and working in Woodbine\, Maryland. She has been an artist all her life and earned an art degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked as a graphic designer and home stager—always in creative fields. Covid was a turning point and led her to make her art practice her main focus. \nEmbracing the idea of using things that would otherwise end up in a landfill\, she upcycles them as art materials and transforms everyday items like soda cans\, plastic bottles\, plastic-coated wires\, and other found objects into unique elements within her work. These unexpected materials create dimensional texture and bring depth to her canvases. By incorporating unconventional materials\, she invites viewers to look more closely and discover the beauty in discarded items. \nInspired by nature\, her pieces reflect the elegance and resilience of the natural world through her distinct perspective. She uses the term Eco Art to describe what she creates\, with the goal of making art that not only captivates but also inspires people to recycle and care for the environment. \nLearn more here.
